Who are we?

Welcome to Habibi Studio.

I'm Veronika, owner of a small leather goods store in Rostock. I have a lot of interest and experience in the world of leather. Based on this experience, I decided to open a leather goods store to share my experiences and interests and to offer my exclusively hand-sewn products. I think it's important and beautiful to develop sustainable products that will last over time. My products are mostly minimalist and functional, not just for one season. Quality is much more important to me than quantity, and I make every effort to source sustainable materials and produce ethically. All my bags are made from truly pure and natural vegetable-tanned leather from Europe, which only improves over time.

I cut and craft all of my leather goods in my small studio in Rostock with great attention to detail. I sew every single stitch by hand using high-quality waxed thread.

Hand sewing is a truly ancient method of making leather goods. It's not only unique and beautiful, but also extremely durable compared to traditional sewing methods using sewing machines. While it takes much longer than sewing machines, it offers lifelong quality and a highly aesthetic appearance. Therefore, hand-stitched products are usually significantly more expensive, but also of a higher quality than mass-produced leather goods made with sewing machines. However, I like to offer my products at a reasonable price because I'd like to have a place on the internet, and also because I truly believe that quality doesn't have to be expensive.

Hand-stitched leather goods take a long time to make. A small smartphone case can take up to two hours. Even longer if you use a Japanese chisel. Cutting, sewing, polishing edges, and oiling are all part of the handcrafting process. It makes me happy, though, when my work is recognized and I see other people wearing my products. In my leather work, I use only high-quality leather from renowned Italian tanneries like Badalassi Carlo and Conceria Walpier, as well as from the USA, like Horween and SB Foot.
